Bow Back Windsor Chair with Tail Brace
The common bow back Windsor chair was produced more than any other chair and was used in a variety of settings, both formal and informal. This bow back has nine hand shaved spindles that are socketed into the 2" thick pine “shield” shaped seat.
This is the companion chair to the New York City Continuous arm chair. The “tail brace option” is very interesting. It is “diamond” cut using large chisels and adds considerable strength. The bow back makes a great chair to pull up to the dining room table.
